Riverland Energy Cooperative is dedicated to maintaining the safety and reliability of its electric system and conducts various inspections throughout the year of our poles, lines, and other equipment.

To do this, a Riverland Energy contractor annually performs these inspections, requiring them to access the co-op’s facilities or equipment on a Riverland member’s property.

The inspection process typically takes four to six months, from March to August, depending on the weather. If the contractor identifies any outstanding issues, crews repair or perform maintenance to bring them into compliance.

Over the next few months, we will be doing underground line inspections around the areas served by the Cedar Creek, New Amsterdam, and SandLake substations. Members are notified by an automated phone call. 

Our contractor, Karcz Utility Services, will do the work and will include opening and opening and inspecting all underground cable junction boxes and padmount transformers. They will also be obtaining GPS coordinates on all cabinets, transformers, and meter locations. Please be aware that if your meter is on the side of your house, they may have to walk through your yard to get to the meter.
