With guidance from both the CDC and the World Health Organization, Riverland Energy Cooperative is taking steps to be prepared from impact from the Coronavirus in the communities they serve. We are focused on maintaining a healthy workforce, and keeping key personnel available so that we can continue to provide the excellent service you expect from us.
As of March 18, 2020, we temporarily closed our lobbies to walk-in traffic until further notice. We will continue to take calls from members and respond to outages. Members are encouraged to drop payments in the secure drop boxes at the offices or make payments online through SmartHub. Payments can also be called in through our automated bill pay system by calling 866-999-6472.
Annual Meeting Postponed
The annual meeting of Riverland Energy Cooperative will not be conducted on Saturday, March 28, as scheduled. The meeting will be rescheduled as soon as it is practical, based on the status of the virus and future CDC guidelines for hosting public events. Members will receive direct notification of the rescheduled date for the annual meeting when that decision is made.
Drawings for the scholarship recipients that were to take place at the annual meeting, will take place virtually through Facebook Live on Friday, March 27, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. The scholarship applicants do not have to be viewing to be eligible. The winners will be posted on Riverland Energy Cooperative’s website and Facebook page and a recording of the video will be posted later on our website.
The Co-op will continue to assess the situation daily to determine what steps are needed. We appreciate your understanding and patience regarding the precautions being taken to protect both our employees and members. The electric service we provide is not a luxury-- it's a necessity-- and is critical to the well- being of our members.
